Catastrophe in the Middle East — Pre-Convention Discussion #2

THURSDAY, JUNE 26, 8PM EDT

OUR PRE-CONVENTION ZOOM MEETING for Solidarity members and formal sympathizers on June 26 has a two-part agenda.

In view of the looming full-scale U.S. war on Iran, we will begin with a discussion of the immediate catastrophe and the U.S. plans for the longer-term re-shaping of the Middle East under imperialist hegemony. We will be sending out a few articles via the Solidarity list, but feel free to share articles and podcasts you find relevant to the issue.

Secondly, we want to hear from you issues and themes for our other pre-convention discussions and for our national convention on the September 12-14 weekend. We’ve tentatively scheduled several meetings for every other Thursday night at 8PM EDT.

These are: June 26, July 17, July 31, August 14 & August 28. If it would be better, we could move some of the meetings to Sunday so on June 26 let’s figure out what would work best.

Some of our pre-convention discussions can be one-offs and not be major points at the convention. Given our limited time for the convention, the National Committee has been thinking of sessions around political and organizational reports and time for international greetings and/or an international discussion. Clearly solidarity activism has been centered around Palestine and Ukraine.

Let’s move our discussion forward! Join us!
