Here’s a video of Nancy Fraser, who teaches at New York’s New School. She’s placing 2nd wave feminism within the larger political context of its historical moment. Fraser explains how some feminist demands for equality have been largely accepted–yet at the price of decoupling feminism’s emancipatory edge.
After all, Fraser points out, capitalism remakes itself, and this means it attempts to incorporate part of the previous critiques. Finally she suggests steps to regain that emancipatory edge.
