Panelists:
Dan La Botz, member of Solidarity and a longtime student of Mexican history and politics, will present an overview of the crisis as well as its growing impact on U.S. cities.
Folko Mueller, member of Solidarity in Texas, will discuss the situation on the ground as well as the growth of rightwing racist anti-immigrant politics in Germany. This opens a window on the global dimensions of the crisis of mass population dislocation.
David Bacon, veteran photojournalist and author, will focus on labor and community life in California under shifting immigration politics as well as the impact of climate change and water shortages on agriculture and daily life.
Questions and discussion will follow the presentations.
